A vulnerability has been found in Codeworx Technologies DCP-Portal up to 6.0 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file register.php. The manipulation of the argument mid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in DCP-Portal 6 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands, possibly requiring encoded characters, via (1) the name parameter in register.php, (2) the email parameter in lostpassword.php, (3) the year parameter in calendar.php, and the (4) cid parameter to index.php. NOTE: the mid parameter for forums.php is already associated with CVE-2005-0454. NOTE: the index.php/cid vector was later reported to affect 6.11.
The weakness was disclosed 10/24/2005 by Alex (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-3365 since 10/29/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
A public exploit has been developed in Perl. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:register.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 16478 (DCP-Portal Multiple Scripts SQL Injection), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses and running in the context r.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
