A vulnerability was found in PHP iCalendar up to 2.0a2 (Programming Language Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the file index.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. PHP file inclusion vulnerability in index.php in PHP iCalendar 2.0a2 through 2.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code and include arbitrary local files via the phpicalendar cookie. NOTE: this is not a cross-site scripting (XSS) issue as claimed by the original researcher.
The bug was discovered 10/25/2005. The weakness was presented 10/30/2005 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at ush.it. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-3366 since 10/29/2005.
