A vulnerability was found in Lyris List Manager up to 8.9a. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function attachment of the file read/attachment. The manipulation of the argument numeric with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in Lyris ListManager 5.0 through 8.9a allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via SQL code after a numeric argument to a /read/attachment URL.
The bug was discovered 06/21/2005. The weakness was published 12/08/2005 by H D Moore (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at metasploit.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-4143 since 12/10/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
