A vulnerability has been found in Sun ONE and iPlanet Web Server 4.x (Web Server) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file /search. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in /search in iPlanet Web Server 4.x allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the NS-max-records parameter. NOTE: The provenance of this information is unknown; the details are obtained solely from third party information.

The bug was discovered 01/09/2007. The weakness was disclosed 01/09/2007 by Khalsa (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-0183 since 01/10/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
