A vulnerability was found in Helm Hosting Helm Hosting Control Panel up to 3.2.8. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file forgotpassword.asp of the component Control Panel. The manipulation of the argument txtEmailAddress with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in forgotPassword.asp in Helm Hosting Control Panel 3.2.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the txtEmailAddress parameter.
The bug was discovered 01/10/2006. The weakness was disclosed 01/12/2006 by M.Neset KABAKLI (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-0211 since 01/14/2006. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
