KDM in KDE 3.1.3 and earlier uses a weak session cookie generation algorithm that does not provide 128 bits of entropy, which allows attackers to guess session cookies via brute force methods and gain access to the user session.
The bug was discovered 09/16/2003. The weakness was shared 09/17/2003 by George Lebl (Website). The advisory is shared at xfree86.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-0692 since 08/14/2003.
