A vulnerability has been found in Crafty Syntax Image Gallery up to 3.1g (Photo Gallery Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file slides.php. The manipulation of the argument projectid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in slides.php in Eric Gerdes Crafty Syntax Image Gallery (CSIG) (aka PHP thumbnail Photo Gallery) 3.1g and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the limitquery_s parameter when the $projectid variable is less than 1, which prevents the $limitquery_s from being set within slides.php.
The weakness was disclosed 04/04/2006 by r0t (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-1667 since 04/07/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
A public exploit has been developed by undefined1_ in Perl and been published before and not just after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:slides.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
