Oracle Database 9.2.0.0 to 10.2.0.3 allows local users with "SELECT" privileges for a base table to insert, update, or delete data by creating a crafted view then performing the operations on that view.
The bug was discovered 04/10/2006. The weakness was shared 04/11/2006 by Alexander Kornbrust with Red-Database-Security GmbH (Website). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-1705 since 04/10/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally.
