A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in The War Forge warforge.NEWS 1.0. Affected is an unknown function of the file authcheck.php of the component magic_quotes_gpc. SQL injection vulnerability in authcheck.php in warforge.NEWS 1.0, with magic_quotes_gpc disabled, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) authusername and possibly the (2) authpassword cookie.
The bug was discovered 04/14/2006. The weakness was shared 04/18/2006 by Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-1817 since 04/17/2006. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
