A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Php Design X PHP Linkliste 1.0b (Programming Language Software). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file links.php. The manipulation of the argument new_name with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in links.php in PHP Linkliste 1.0b allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) new_input, (2) new_url, or (3) new_name parameter.
The bug was discovered 05/02/2006. The weakness was presented 05/04/2006 by d4igoro (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-2176 since 05/03/2006. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
