A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Jam Warehouse KnowledgeTree 3.0.3 (Knowledge Base Software). This issue affects some unknown processing of the file view.php of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation of the argument fDocumentId with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:
view.php in KnowledgeTree Open Source 3.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain the full installation path via a crafted fDocumentId parameter, which displays the path in the resulting error message. NOTE: this might be resultant from another vulnerability, since this vector also produces XSS.
The weakness was released 06/06/2006 by r0t (Website). The advisory is shared at osvdb.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-2886 since 06/07/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
