The dynamic linker (dyld) in Apple Mac OS X 10.4.7 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via an "improperly handled condition" that leads to use of "dangerous paths," probably related to an untrusted search path vulnerability.

The bug was discovered 08/01/2006. The weakness was released 07/14/2006 by Neil Archibald (iDefense) with Mozilla Corporation (Website). The advisory is available at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-3500 since 07/10/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
