A vulnerability was found in DeluxeBB 1.0/1.05/1.06/1.07/1.08 (Forum Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the file newpost.php. The manipulation of the argument subject with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in newpost.php in DeluxeBB 1.08, and possibly earlier, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the subject parameter (aka the topic title field).
