A vulnerability was found in Adobe Flash Player up to 8.x (Multimedia Player Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown function of the component Keyboard Input Handler. Integer overflow in Adobe Flash Player 9.0.45.0 and earlier might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a large length value for a (1) Long string or (2) XML variable type in a crafted (a) FLV or (b) SWF file, related to an "input validation error," including a signed comparison of values that are assumed to be non-negative.
The bug was discovered 07/10/2007. The weakness was published 07/11/2007 by Mark Hills (Website). The advisory is shared at adobe.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3456 since 06/26/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
