A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Dell/Quest KACE K1000 Systems Management Appliance. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file download_agent.php. An unrestricted file upload vulnerability exists in Dell (acquired by Quest) KACE K1000 System Management Appliance version 5.0 - 5.3, 5.4 prior to 5.4.76849, and 5.5 prior to 5.5.90547 in the download_agent.php endpoint. An attacker can upload arbitrary PHP files to a temporary web-accessible directory, which are later executed through inclusion in backend code that loads files under attacker-controlled paths.
The weakness was presented by Bradley Austin. It is possible to read the advisory at raw.githubusercontent.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-125113 since 07/23/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1608.002 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
