A vulnerability was found in Zenoss Core 3.x. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Popen of the file ZenossInfo.py of the component showdaemonXMLConfig Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument daemon with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. Zenoss Core 3.x contains a command injection vulnerability in the showDaemonXMLConfig endpoint. The daemon parameter is passed directly to a Popen() call in ZenossInfo.py without proper sanitation, allowing authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands on the server as the zenoss user.
