Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.15.9/6.16.0. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function __sk_mark_napi_id_once of the file queues.py of the component fbnic. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eth: fbnic: unlink NAPIs from queues on error to open CI hit a UaF in fbnic in the AF_XDP portion of the queues.py test. The UaF is in the __sk_mark_napi_id_once() call in xsk_bind(), NAPI has been freed. Looks like the device failed to open earlier, and we lack clearing the NAPI pointer from the queue.
