A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Tr Forum 2.0 (Forum Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file /membres/modif_profil.php. The admin panel in Tr Forum 2.0 accepts a username and password hash for authentication, which allows remote authenticated users to perform unauthorized actions, as demonstrated by modifying user settings via the id parameter to /membres/modif_profil.php, and changing a password via /membres/change_mdp.php. NOTE: this can be leveraged with other Tr Forum vulnerabilities to allow unauthenticated attackers to gain privileges.
The weakness was shared 09/03/2006 by DarkFig (Website). The advisory is available at acid-root.new.fr. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-4586 since 09/06/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a simple authentication. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
