A vulnerability has been found in RunCMS 1.4.1 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file /class/sessions.class.php. The manipulation of the argument uid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in RunCMS 1.4.1 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) uid parameter in (a) class/sessions.class.php, and the (2) timezone_offset and (3) umode parameters in (b) class/xoopsuser.php.

The weakness was presented 09/07/2006 by omid as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-4667 since 09/08/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:class/sessions.class.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
