A vulnerability was found in Khaled Mardam-Bey mIRC 6.1/6.11 (Chat Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown function of the component DCC SEND. Buffer overflow in mIRC 6.1 and 6.11 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a long DCC SEND request.
The bug was discovered 10/14/2003. The weakness was shared 10/13/2003 by Takara Takaishi (Website). The advisory is shared at irchelp.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2003-1512 since 10/25/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
