A vulnerability was found in SuiteCRM up to 7.12.5 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function deleteAttachment. The manipulation of the argument module with an unknown input leads to a type confusion vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-843. SuiteCRM versions prior to 7.12.6 contain a type confusion vulnerability within the processing of the ‘module’ parameter within the ‘deleteAttachment’ functionality. Successful exploitation allows remote unauthenticated attackers to alter database objects including changing the email address of the administrator.
The weakness was disclosed by Exodus Intelligence. The advisory is shared for download at docs.suitecrm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2022-50590 since 11/05/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
