A vulnerability was found in Jumo variTRON300, variTRON500 and variTRON500 touch and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Debug Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a weak prng vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-338. The product uses a Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) in a security context, but the PRNG's algorithm is not cryptographically strong. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
A vulnerability was identified in the password generation algorithm when accessing the debug-interface. An unauthenticated local attacker with knowledge of the password generation timeframe might be able to brute force the password in a timely manner and thus gain root access to the device if the debug interface is still enabled.
