Details
A vulnerability was found in Genymobile scrcpy up to 3.3.3 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function sc_device_msg_deserialize/process_msgs. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:
Genymobile/scrcpy versions up to and including 3.3.3, prior to commit 3e40b24, contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the sc_device_msg_deserialize() function. A compromised device can send crafted messages that cause out-of-bounds reads, which may result in memory corruption or a denial-of-service condition. This vulnerability may allow further exploitation on the host system.
