The CControl::Download function (/dl URI) in Winamp Web Interface (Wawi) 7.5.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to download arbitrary file types under the root via a trailing "." (dot) in a filename in the file parameter, related to erroneous behavior of the IsWinampFile function.
The weakness was shared 12/13/2006 by Luigi Auriemma (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-6513 since 12/13/2006. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The successful exploitation needs a authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
