Summary

A vulnerability was found in SOUND4 Impact, Pulse, First, Pulse Eco, BigVoice4, BigVoice2 and Stream. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the file ping.php of the component HTTP POST Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. SOUND4 IMPACT/FIRST/PULSE/Eco <=2.x contains a conditional command injection vulnerability that allows local authenticated users to create malicious files in the /tmp directory. Unauthenticated attackers can execute commands by making a single HTTP POST request to the vulnerable ping.php script, which triggers the malicious file and then deletes it.
The weakness was released by Gjoko Krstic as 170262. It is possible to read the advisory at zeroscience.mk. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2022-50791 since 12/26/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
