The writeFile function in core/smb4kfileio.cpp in Smb4K before 0.8.0 does not preserve /etc/sudoers permissions across modifications, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information (/etc/sudoers contents) by reading this file.
The bug was discovered 12/21/2006. The weakness was presented 02/03/2007 by Kees Cook (Website). The advisory is shared at lists.berlios.de. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-0473 since 01/24/2007. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
