A vulnerability was found in ClamAV up to 0.89 (Anti-Malware Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part. Directory traversal vulnerability in clamd in Clam AntiVirus ClamAV before 0.90 allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the id MIME header parameter in a multi-part message.

The weakness was published 02/15/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mandriva.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-0898 since 02/13/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
