A vulnerability has been found in phpBB Advanced Guestbook 2.4 (Forum Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the file guestbook.php. The manipulation of the argument entry with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in guestbook.php in Advanced Guestbook 2.4 for phpBB allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQl commands via the entry parameter.
The weakness was released 03/02/2007 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-7077 since 02/27/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
