Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in wp-includes/functions.php in WordPress before 2.1.2-alpha allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the Referer HTTP header or (2) the URI, a different vulnerability than CVE-2007-1049.
The weakness was disclosed 02/27/2007 (Website). The advisory is available at trac.wordpress.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-1230 since 03/02/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. It is assigned to the family Gentoo Local Security Checks.
Upgrading to version 2.1.2-alpha eliminates this vulnerability.
