Details
A vulnerability was found in Mambo 4.6.1 (Content Management System). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown functionality of the file mod_login.php. The manipulation of the argument mcname with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity. CVE summarizes:
Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Mambo 4.6.x allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the query string to (a) index.php, which reflects the string in an error message from mod_login.php; and the (2) mcname parameter to (b) moscomment.php and (c) com_comment.php.
