Details
A vulnerability was found in voidzero-dev vite-plus up to 0.1.16. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function downloadPackageManager. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Vite+ is a unified toolchain and entry point for web development. Prior to version 0.1.17, `downloadPackageManager()` accepts an untrusted `version` string and uses it directly in filesystem paths. A caller can supply `../` segments or an absolute path to escape the `VP_HOME/package_manager//` cache root and make Vite+ delete, replace, and populate directories outside the intended cache location. Version 0.1.17 contains a patch.
