Details
A vulnerability was found in Froxlor up to 2.3.5. It has been classified as problematic. This affects the function EmailSender::add of the component Email Address Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authorization vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-863. The product performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action, but it does not correctly perform the check. This allows attackers to bypass intended access restrictions. This is going to have an impact on integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Froxlor is open source server administration software. Prior to version 2.3.6, in `EmailSender::add()`, the domain ownership validation for full email sender aliases uses the wrong array index when splitting the email address, passing the local part instead of the domain to `validateLocalDomainOwnership()`. This causes the ownership check to always pass for non-existent "domains," allowing any authenticated customer to add sender aliases for email addresses on domains belonging to other customers. Postfix's `sender_login_maps` then authorizes the attacker to send emails as those addresses. Version 2.3.6 fixes the issue.
It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-41232 since 04/18/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
Upgrading to version 2.3.6 eliminates this vulnerability.
