Linux Kernel up to 6.19.12 net privilege escalation

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.19.12. Affected is an unknown part of the component net. The impact remains unknown. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: rfkill: prevent unlimited numbers of rfkill events from being created Userspace can create an unlimited number of rfkill events if the system is so configured, while not consuming them from the rfkill file descriptor, causing a potential out of memory situation. Prevent this from bounding the number of pending rfkill events at a "large" number (i.e. 1000) to prevent abuses like this.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-31670 since 03/09/2026. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 07/17/2026).

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 326222 (EulerOS 2.0 SP12 : kernel (EulerOS-SA-2026-2535)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 5.10.253, 5.15.203, 6.1.169, 6.6.135, 6.12.82, 6.18.23 or 6.19.13 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 4bcd1615a4e2a185ae9edd27b4143d7dfa7134f4/b1e0c8d3ab58a0161db487bf5fc47adfcaf5d5ca/e3842779547c83150569071d9980517cc9029fc0/673d2a3eef6e0ee9736501a150c9e4024a4e60a6/82843afc19012a29ba863961ef494165aa1a88f4/a8c26800e0220e1550af012f5a20e50f5c78864d/80ce4cb026f0a4c4532b6cad827b44debda6256a/ea245d78dec594372e27d8c79616baf49e98a4a1 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (326222) and EUVD (EUVD-2026-25563). Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
