Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in open-webui Open WebUI up to 0.8.x. Affected is an unknown functionality. The manipulation of the argument SESSION_POOL with an unknown input leads to a session expiration vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-613. According to WASC, "Insufficient Session Expiration is when a web site permits an attacker to reuse old session credentials or session IDs for authorization." This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.9.0, administrative role changes and user deletions do not iterate SESSION_POOL to disconnect affected sessions. As a result, a user whose admin role has been revoked retains admin privileges within their existing Socket.IO session for as long as they keep the connection alive (via automatic heartbeats). The gap is exclusive to the Socket.IO session cache. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.0.
