Details
A vulnerability was found in opensourcepos Open Source Point of Sale up to 3.4.2. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function getPicThumb of the file app/Controllers/Items.php. The manipulation of the argument pic_filename with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality.
