Details
A vulnerability has been found in Live555 up to 2026.04.21 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component RTSP Session Command Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a authorization vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-863. The product performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action, but it does not correctly perform the check. This allows attackers to bypass intended access restrictions. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:
LIVE555 before 2026.04.22 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in RTSP session command handling that allows attackers to replay valid Session tokens from unauthenticated connections. Attackers who obtain a valid Session token can issue PLAY and TEARDOWN commands from a second TCP connection without authentication, causing server crashes through virtual function call errors or disrupting active streams by terminating victim sessions.
