A vulnerability has been found in TODDR Template::Plugin::HTML up to 3.102 on Perl and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the component HTML Attribute Handler. The manipulation of the argument var with an unknown input leads to a html injection vulnerability. Template::Plugin::HTML versions through 3.102 for Perl allows HTML and JavaScript to be injected. The html_filter function did not escape single quotes. HTML attributes inside of single quotes could be have code injected. For example, the variable "var" in <a id='ref' title='[% var | html %]'> would not be properly escaped. An attacker could insert some limited HTML and JavaScript, for example, var = " ' onclick='while (true) { alert(1) }'" Note that arbitrary HTML and JavaScript would be difficult to inject, because angle brackets, ampersands and double-quotes would still be escaped.

It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com.
