The bug was discovered 04/27/2007. The weakness was disclosed 05/01/2007 by Tavis Ormandy with Google (Website). The advisory is available at vmware.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-1069 since 02/22/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
