Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Elastic Kibana up to 9.2.7/9.3.1. This affects some unknown processing of the component Outbound Requests Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Server-Side Request Forgery (CWE-918) in Kibana allows authenticated users with connector management privileges to bypass the operator-configured connection allowlist. By configuring a Webhook connector with a crafted target, an attacker can cause Kibana to issue outbound requests to destinations that the egress restriction controls were intended to block.
