Usagi-org ai-goofish-monitor on Windows /api/prompts/ absolute path traversal

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Usagi-org ai-goofish-monitor on Windows (version unknown) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the file /api/prompts/. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a absolute path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-36. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize absolute path sequences such as "/abs/path" that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:

Usagi-org ai-goofish-monitor contains an unauthenticated arbitrary file read vulnerability in the GET /api/prompts/{filename} endpoint on Windows deployments that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files by supplying absolute Windows paths or backslash-based traversal sequences. Attackers can bypass the incomplete path traversal guard, which only blocks forward slashes and '..', by providing absolute paths such as Windows system file locations, causing os.path.join to discard the intended prompts directory prefix and expose files accessible to the application process.

The weakness was published by Yu Sun as 488. It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-10044 since 05/28/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

Applying the patch f85d140b6b45029d9a0925feb96dad733b41396d is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com.
