A vulnerability was found in Ollie Armstrong Simply Poll 1.4.1 on WordPress and classified as critical. This issue affects the function spAjaxResults of the file admin-ajax.php of the component POST Parameter Handler. The manipulation of the argument pollid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. Simply Poll 1.4.1 plugin for WordPress contains an SQL injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to extract database information by injecting SQL code through the 'pollid' POST parameter. Attackers can send requests to the admin-ajax.php endpoint with the 'spAjaxResults' action and malicious 'pollid' values to execute arbitrary SQL queries and read sensitive data from the WordPress database.
The weakness was shared by Tad Group as 40971. The advisory is shared at exploit-db.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-20062 since 06/09/2026.
