A vulnerability was found in Mbedthis AppWeb HTTP Server 2.0.5-4 (Web Server) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function mprlogtofile::logevent of the component Logging. Format string vulnerability in the MprLogToFile::logEvent function in Mbedthis AppWeb 2.0.5-4, when the build supports logging but the configuration disables logging, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via format string specifiers in the HTTP scheme, as demonstrated by a "GET %n://localhost:80/" request.
The bug was discovered 08/06/2006. The weakness was presented 04/29/2007 by rachmel (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3009 since 06/04/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
