Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in DAVIDO Bytes::Random::Secure up to 0.29 on Perl. Affected is the function Bytes::Random::Secure of the component Functional Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prng seed vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-335. The product uses a Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) but does not correctly manage seeds. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Bytes::Random::Secure versions through 0.29 for Perl share internal state across forked processes. When an object is initialised before forking, or when the functional interface is used, then the internal state for the PRNG is shared across processes and identical random streams will be produced. Secrets generated in multiprocess applications are predictable across processes.
