Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.15, Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 and earlier, and SeaMonkey before 1.1.10 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via unknown vectors related to the layout engine.
The weakness was released 07/02/2008 by Devon Hubbard, Jesse Ruderman, Martijn Wargers and Ig with Mozilla as MFSA2008-21 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2008-2798 since 06/20/2008. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
