A vulnerability was found in Mozilla Firefox (Web Browser) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function mozIJSSubScriptLoader.LoadScript. Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.15 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.10 allow remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy and conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via vectors involving (1) an event handler attached to an outer window, (2) a SCRIPT element in an unloaded document, or (3) the onreadystatechange handler in conjunction with an XMLHttpRequest.
The weakness was presented 07/02/2008 by moz_bug_r_a4 with Mozilla as MFSA2008-23 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-2800 since 06/20/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
