A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in SAP EnjoySAP (the affected version is unknown). This issue affects the function LaunchGui of the component ActiveX Control. The manipulation of the argument first with an unknown input leads to a heap-based overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-122. A heap overflow condition is a buffer overflow, where the buffer that can be overwritten is allocated in the heap portion of memory, generally meaning that the buffer was allocated using a routine such as malloc(). Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Heap-based buffer overflow in the rfcguisink.rfcguisink.1 ActiveX control in the EnjoySAP SAP GUI, on systems using ASCII versions, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long first argument to the LaunchGui function.
The weakness was published 07/05/2007 by Mark Litchfield (Website). The advisory is shared at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3606 since 07/06/2007.
