A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Gobi And Helma Gobi (version now known). This issue affects the function search. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Gobi as of 20070711, built on Helma, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the q parameter to the search function.
The weakness was disclosed 07/11/2007 by Hanno Boeck (Website). The advisory is shared at int21.de. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3693 since 07/11/2007.
