The weakness was disclosed 07/08/2008 with Microsoft as MS08-038 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2008-1435 since 03/21/2008. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.
