A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 (Groupware Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the component Outlook Web Access. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Outlook Web Access (OWA) for Exchange Server 2003 SP2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified e-mail fields, a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-2248.
The bug was discovered 07/08/2008. The weakness was presented 07/08/2008 by Michael Jackson with Context Information Security as MS08-039 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-2247 since 05/16/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
