Details
A vulnerability was found in Ada ImgSvr 0.6.5. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function. The manipulation of the argument template with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Ada Image Server (ImgSvr) 0.6.5 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the template parameter to the default URI. NOTE: the provenance of this information is unknown; the details are obtained solely from third party information. NOTE: this is probably a different issue than CVE-2004-2464. NOTE: it was later reported that 0.6.21 and earlier is also affected.
